Five ways to boost your sales

<![CDATA[A few months ago I attended a networking event, where there were many successful entrepreneurs in the room representing a variety of industries. One of the topics that kept coming up was the fear of selling.
At that point I reflected on the many years I had spent coaching and helping entrepreneurs build successful businesses.
When I looked back, I found that the top sales leaders in their industries had these five things in common:
1. They created an action plan
One of the first things to do is to put an action plan together. What are your sales or revenue goals for the year? Do you have a plan on how to achieve your goals? It is important to be putting a strategy together on how to achieve your goals.
Be specific with your action plan. For example; “I will make 5 prospecting calls per day”. Or, “ I will attend 4 networking events per month”. “I will join a mastermind group”.
2. They tracked their progress
Develop a tracking system that will tell you where you are at on the road to achieving your goals. It has been proven that when you keep your goals in front of you, you have a better chance of achieving them.
3. They networked and rubbed shoulders with like-minded people
Attend networking events to meet other entrepreneurs or people who are in your business or industry. Environmentis 90% of your success. So join a group that will help you to get the word out there about your products or ideas.
To keep track of my customers, I still use a paper-based tracking system. I have a binder with monthly tabs. In the binder, I have individual sheets, with each customer contact information. I track information such as their birthday, where we met, and the last communication I had with them.
4. They are knowledgeable about their products or services
Take the time to learn about the benefits of your product. Get to know how it helps your customers. Be clear on how your clients will be in a better place once they have used your product or services.
5. They practiced good customer service
Stay in touch with your customers once they buy. Follow up and let them know you are still there. Follow up especially when you don’t need to sell them anything. Have a follow-up system that helps you to remember when you should be touching base.
Entrepreneurs who followed these five principles were able to increase their revenues by boosting sales.
